I braved the slush, mush, freezing cold and tail end of my cold last night to venture out to BAM in Bklyn (only a few blocks from Maxi HQ) and so glad I did.  Yoko Ono Plastic Ono Band performed with special guests Bette Midler, Eric Clapton, Paul Simon, Scissor Sisters, Kim Gordon, Thurston Moore and Justin Bond!!  It was kinda historical and hysterical at the same time – from Bette Midler turning Yoko’s “Yes, I’m Your Angel”  into a broadway show-stopper to 10 minutes of guitar feedback by Kim and Thurston with Yoko cackling something called “Mulberry”. We all sang “Give Peace A Chance” and “Happy Birthday” to Yoko who just turned 77!  My mother is 79 and I tried as I did, I just couldn’t picture her rocking out on stage with Eric Clapton.  The only person in the world who can imagine his mother doing that is probably Sean Lennon who was the musical director for the night.  Great show.  There’s more pics at Brooklyn Vegan
