The last few years have been a whirlwind for the Hamilton Ontario duo of Jeremy Greenspan and Matt Didemus. Childhood friends that never intended to be professional musicians yet 6 years after accidentally forming, three studio LPs and a mix cd, ragged passports from touring the globe and press books brimming with clippings later, Junior Boys are a force in electronic music. On the new album Begone Dull Care out now on Domino, they’ve traded their starry-eyed melancholy for a much brighter optimism. Digging into analog drum machines and modular synths that made their favorite synth-pop/r&b shine, the debut single is a piece of 80′s slap-funk that would make Minneapolis royalty proud. UK housemaster, Ewan Pearson not only sunk his teeth into his juicy house mix and dub giving it the perfect amount of hypnotic bounce, he pays homage to the album version with an extended disco edit. Boogie on!
