Throughout the nineties, ex Dubliner Dominique Keegan’s Plant Music wreaked havoc on the downtown NYC club scene with his infamous Plant Bar parties (some of which I personally closed down) leading to the label and the influential Sound Of Young New York compilation series from 2004. With an eye on his adopted city, Dom and label partner veteran DJ Stretch Armstrong release strong selections of rhythmic pop (Tittsworth, Eli Escobar, Kap10Kurt) that move NYC and world beyond. As duo The Glass, Dominique and Glen Brady aka DJ Wool, have been hitting the electro scene hard since 2004′s “Won’t Bother Me” hit big. They’ve been touring the globe ever since doing shows and dj sets. Following up their summer smash “Wanna Be Dancin’” is the super catchy electro-pop number “Superhero”. Reviving high 80′s into 21st century hip is not an easy task but The Glass manage to do it in style with a variety of remixes including bumpin’ house versions by Sam Roqwell & I Sancho, Bit Thief and Luke Solomon’s slinky Detroit dub to Ursula 1000′s homage to Information Society and Komba’s minimal tweaker.
