It’s been a wild 10 years for indie-rock Aussies Dappled Cities, from humble teenage beginnings jamming in their childhood Sydney suburbs to the release of their brand new 3rd LP Zounds. Grandiose keeps popping up in all descriptions likely due to their flamboyant energy, vivid imagery and wall of zounds chaos ripened by 2 years of intense touring (Silverchair, LCD Soundsystem, The Fratellis) and Zounds co-producer Chris Coady (TV On Radio).  They’re definitely on the brink of something special with their first single “The Price”, a disco inferno of piercing guitars, swooning strings with politically charged lyrics that stands tall mixing into The Ting Tings as well as Blondie. Part 1 of the remixes is a wondrous collection featuring a tough vocal and dub from UK’s King Unique, Inphinity & Kalendr’s bouncing filtered Chicago style house and NYC’s Whatever Whatever’s retro disco rockings.  Brand new mixes have just been added by Pocketknife, No Device, Cassettes Won’t Listen and Jim Naylor. Zounds is out now on Dangerbird Records.
