Get a pen and jot this down; “my new source for forward-thinking, modern music with no boundaries is KID Recordings”. Industry veteran Craig Roseberry has taken the plunge with his own label distributed by D.C. based Outsider Music and we’re all going to be the richer for it. The inaugural release on KID (a.k.a. Keep It Deep) is the heartbreak disco-synth of Soft Complex’s “Wounded Valentine”. The elegant melancholy of the D.C. indie quartet of Shane German, Chris Connelly, Rich Dejong and Mike Harbin conjures up classic 80′s alternative by New Order, Blancmange and OMD dressed up for the 21st Century in ultra club-friendly remixes. The seductively rockish house beats of Morel, the deliciously druggy Tommie Sunshine overhaul and Nightriders’ glacial bounce (where are my rollerskates?) build on the songs contagious hook for a hot dancefloor set as well as an intimate headphone experience.
