UK producer Cameron McVey a.k.a. Booga Bear (Massive Attack, Tricky, Portishead), his wife Neneh Cherry the original Buffalo Gal who needs no introduction, their daughter Lolita Moon and DJ, guitarist, beatsmith Matt Kent make up cirKus. The quartet have just released Medicine, the follow-up to their 2006 Laylow LP, filled with raw, dubbed-out, trip-hop driven cuts with layered vocals and punk-funk guitars. On lead single “bells”, McVey’s iconic lead vocal can’t help but sound like classic Massive Attack updated into a chugging, nu-disco groove. The remixes include full vocal, mid-tempo, groovers by Eli Escobar, Get Loose Now and Klaus Schneider and two funky, grimy, acid bangers from Bedsit and Floppy.
